Bre`

Love this girl! Bre` was really up for any idea I could come up with. And how can you not love a girl who is willing to take pics in front of "haunted house" at dusk!?

Cody & Jessica

Meet Jessica and Cody! They are a beautiful couple and so much in love!
These are a few of the images from their recent engagement session. Even in the 90-plus temperature I love how you can see the mutual admiration they share for each other in these pictures.
We started the day out looking for unusual backgrounds like fences and railroad tracks. We spotted a beautiful wrought iron gate and decided it would be perfect. However when we asked permission the owner was not thrilled with a photo shoot taking place in her driveway. So we traveled on.
Our next stop was Cody’s grandparents. This couple lives in a beautiful condo that is surrounded by a wrought iron fence that also has a gazebo and a lake in the back!!! What luck! After shooting some art and visiting we headed uptown and found some great areas including a large puddle of water that made a great reflection of the couple.
We completed the engagement portraits in what will soon be the couple’s first home. The house has a 1940-50s flavor and comes complete with original hardwood floors and a picture perfect view of a beautiful old red barn.
Check back soon for Jessica and Cody’s wedding portraits! I am so very excited to be selected as their wedding photographer … .

How beautiful is this mother-to-be?! I was honored to photograph her this week. Her baby is due to arrive in a matter of weeks. She most certainly has a glow about her.
I think maternity portraits are simply the most perfect way to capture this special time for expectant parents. Although at times it may seem like the weeks will never end, it won't be long before it is only a distant memory.
Special thanks to this terrific couple for choosing me as their photographer! The future mother looks AMAZING for being so close to welcoming her baby!

Congratulations Southland Graduates!

A prayer for you as you graduate - May God guide you through as you begin your journey into adulthood, and may he give you all the faith it takes to make your dreams come true ... May His love and wisdom always help to guide you on your way And His light shine down upon you now to bless you during this special time in your life.

And remember: Graduation day is also tough on adults. They go to the ceremony as your parents. They come home as your contemporaries. After 18 years of child raising, they are now unemployed. - Erma Bombeck

Location Portraits?

Family portraits are among the most treasured of all as they are of the entire family together. Sometimes, especially for families with very young children, getting ready for this event can be quite an ordeal.
Consider the following scenario:

A family is planning to have professional family photos made. They thought it would be nice to have a large family portrait to hang on the wall, along with a nice package of photos to share with friends and relatives. So, they make an appointment with a local portrait studio on a day when there will be plenty of time to get the children ready for the event.
The young couple scrambled to get everyone dressed and looking their best; the stress from the activity has given the 6-month old a nervous stomach; he keeps spitting up. Better take an extra outfit, just in case.

When everyone is settled into the car, they often realize it has already been an exhausting ordeal. Then the young family shows up for their appointment; now everyone needs to fix their hair, straighten clothing and of course the baby must have his clothes changed; he’s also been crying, so his face is red and blotchy.

Get the picture?
Now consider this: What if the photographer came to the family? On location photography is quickly gaining popularity. On-site photography would save this young family a lot of time and hassle. All they would have to do is be ready and relax in their own home as the photographer arrives and sets up the equipment. The children will have a better chance at being relaxed and happy.
The photographer can now create natural looking family photos with your home as the background. Or, if you would prefer not to show your home in the photos, the photographer will supply special background material so that your photos are like those taken in a studio.
On location photography is a great service for special events, including weddings, graduations, family reunions, business photos, and more.

On location photography is very convenient as it saves you a trip to the photo studio. It makes things especially easier on the family with young children or the family who wants to include their pets or home bound family members in the portrait.

Mitchell Photography Studio specializes in location photography at no extra charge. Give us a call today at 573 344-4752 or 870 450-5792

Lillian and Jeremy

He smiled, and she laughed. She smiled, and he laughed back. This became the pattern as I recently wandered around Walcott State Park with Jeremy and Lillian celebrating their love and upcoming nuptuals planned for this summer in Paragould. These two really couldn’t stop smiling, even though we had to work our way around large tree limbs left over from the recent ice storms. Poor Jeremy, wearing flip-flops, tripped over a limb that left him with a large splinter in his big toe.
Today I completed their wedding announcement cards. They chose an amazing black and white photo for their cards.
To both of you, thanks for allowing me to be a part of your wedding plans. I hope you had fun and enjoy the photos. I cannot wait for the upcoming bridal shoot!!!

About Me

My photo
I’m really just a person who likes to take pictures, I always have. I’m also old enough to remember the excitement of finally seeing the prints from a roll of film when they finally arrived back from the developer. We have came a long way since then … and I am in love with digital! These days, more times than not, you’ll see me with my camera around my neck. Am I a professional? I try to be … but my goal is more about the art than the snapshot. I take a little more time with each photo … my goal is to turn each photo into canvas quality art. My favorite artist are Norman Rockwell and Ansel Adams. I’m also a single mom who has recently returned to school. I thank you in advance for your comments…both constructive and complimentary.
